Spotify’s “Import your music”, and what it does not do
Since November 2025 Spotify has a built-in Import your music option (run by TuneMyMusic), and YouTube Music and Apple Music have import tools of their own. They are handy for moving into that one service, once. Trackhop covers what they leave out:
| Built-in import tools | Trackhop | |
|---|---|---|
| Direction | Only into the service that offers it | Any service to any service, Spotify included as a source |
| After the move | A one-off copy | Optional sync: by hand or on a schedule, removals too |
| Your own servers | No | Navidrome, Jellyfin, Plex, Subsonic |
| Tracks not found | Skipped | A review list with suggestions, remembered for next time |
| Files | No | CSV, M3U, XSPF and more, as a backup or a bridge |
| Cost | Free, inside one app | Free, open source (AGPL-3.0), no account |
When the built-in tool is enough
A single move into Spotify (or YouTube Music, or Apple Music), with nothing to keep in step afterwards: use it, it is right there.
When Trackhop helps
- Leaving Spotify: to YouTube Music, Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Amazon Music.
- Using two services at once and wanting the same playlists on both: keep playlists in sync.
- Your own music server next to a streaming service: Navidrome, Jellyfin or Plex.
